about me
Taylor Schaub is an Emmy-nominated sports anchor, reporter, and host based in Los Angeles.
At Spectrum Networks, Taylor has reported from some of the most defining events in recent L.A. sports history: the Dodgers’ 2024 World Series run, Shohei Ohtani’s record-shattering 50/50 season, the blockbuster Luka Dončić trade, and playoff pushes from the Lakers, Clippers, Kings, Rams, and Chargers. He also serves as sideline reporter for select games on Spectrum SportsNet and SportsNet LA, delivering real-time insight and interviews.
Before coming to Los Angeles, Taylor served as Sports Director at KGET-TV in Bakersfield, where he led coverage of Super Bowl LVI, the Tokyo and Beijing Olympics, the MLB All-Star Game, and the College Football Playoff National Championship.
Raised in Northern California by two journalists, Taylor learned early that storytelling wasn’t just a profession—it was a calling. His mother, a longtime producer, suffered a life-threatening stroke and brain aneurysm when Taylor was just one year old. Doctors weren’t sure she’d survive. But she did—becoming one of the first people to ever live through both. Though partially paralyzed, she went on to raise Taylor and his brother, shaping his view of resilience, gratitude, and grace. She called it a “stroke of luck.” Taylor calls it the reason he believes so deeply in stories that remind us what we’re made of.
Whether he’s hosting from the studio, chasing breaking news from the sidelines, or crafting a two-minute feature that makes you feel something—Taylor delivers with clarity, energy, and heart. His reports move fast, but never feel rushed. His voice is authoritative, but always conversational. And his writing cuts through the clutter—anchored in a deep understanding of the athletes he covers and the audiences he speaks to.
Because to Taylor Schaub, sports aren’t just games. They’re windows into who we are—and who we hope to become.
